East Jakarta Intensifies Food Control in Five Traditional Markets

Some 40 joint officers lauinched a sudden inspection (sidak) in five traditional markets spread across East Jakarta ahead of Ramadan, on Thursday (3/24).

This is done to anticipate dangerous food products that contain hazardous chemicals

Food Security and Agriculture Divison Acting Head Siti Halimah those five traditional markets were namely Ujung Menteng, Cakung, Pulogadung, Cipinang Muara, and Enjo.

"This is done to anticipate dangerous food products that contain hazardous chemicals, including creating a sense of safety and comfort for Jakartans," she explained.

Food Inspection Held in Four Traditional Markets in South Jakarta

She furthered the officers took 24 samples of agricultural products, eight samples of livestock products, and 19 samples of fishery products. They were taken to be examined in a mobile laboratory alerted at Enjo Market.

"We do this inspection routinely with different locations," she concluded.
